BFG TIRES
DELORME GPS

I’ve been using BF Goodrich All Terrain Radial Tires since the early 1990s.  In my case, switching to them was the result of continually blowing the sidewalls out of other brands while on rugged 4x4 trails.  Within a few weeks of installing a set of BFGs, I knew the problem was fixed.  The All Terrain Radial has an extra ply of steel cord in the sidewalls called Trigard which makes it very hard to penetrate.  Sharp rocks, tree roots, and other trail hazards just slide on by.

Durability is not the only thing that makes the BFG AT a favorite for those of us who like the roads less traveled.  The traction capability of the tire is hard to beat.  First of all, it comes with ShoulderLock ™ technology.  That simply means the tread on the ground continues up the sidewalls in the form of traction bars.  Cornering or driving aired-down puts the traction bars to work and maintains traction that might otherwise be lost.

The tread design is deep void and aggressive with interlocking tread elements.  Whether in snow, ice, mud, or dry pavement, the BFG AT keeps its rubber on the ground.

A friend of mine had a neighbor with a driveway constructed on a grade.  When a heavy snow covered the gravel surface, his 4x4 SUV had to be towed up the grade into the street.  My friend told him about BFG ATs.  The neighbor had a set installed and although snow fell all during the next week, he no longer needed to be towed anywhere.

Another friend had spent so much time on slick-rock back country roads, he had worn the black sidewall completely off his tires down to the white rubber beneath.  He simply had the tires turned around so the scuffed sides were facing inward and ran them another six months before buying new ones.

Everyone I know who has changed to BFG TAs will never go back.  It’s a tire that can get you out of places you never should have been anyway.
