PAGE 1 OF THE SEPTEMBER 1995 ISSUE OF PASS PATROL CAMPFIRE TALES
Keep in mind, the stories here were written in 1995.  A lot has changed.

This issue includes

Imogene Pass, San Juan Loop

ANOTHER OF THE MANY ADVENTURES OF PASS PATROL

All of the 1995 issues were recovered and provided by Robert Noll aka Sundance.  He got some of those issues from his sidekick known as Trapdoor.  Some photos have been substituted.

IMOGENE PASS

“Oh, No!  They forgot to lock the hubs!”

The new four-door Geo Tracker can carry a lot of water.  In fact, once we got it out of the creek and opened the doors, we concluded it carried enough water to settle the dust for miles.

We were on the Imogene Pass road and crossing a creek with water flowing headlight-deep.   The first driver into the creek reminded us that those who are not used to manual hubs, might forget to lock them in.  The Tracker is available with manual or automatic hubs and it is best to determine which you have before you charge across a roaring Colorado mountain stream.  By the time we got another vehicle to tug the Tracker out of the water, the submarine commander (driver) and his captain (passenger) were sitting with their feet up on the seats.

The Tracker didn’t seem to mind playing submarine.  Its air intake and electronics are mounted high and out of the way so its motor continued purring like a kitten and once its hubs were locked, it charged across the creek like a deer on the run.
