Ranger Rick

THE LEGEND OF RANGER RICK

Spark of truth:  We passed a sheriff vehicle on the road.

Example: Ranger Rick’s posse was behind us and closing in fast.”

Spark of truth: We passed a sheriff vehicle on the road.

Example:  “Ranger Rick’s posse was behind us and closing fast.”

Spark of truth: There were other vehicles behind us on the trail.

That should be enough examples to get you started.  Let’s see how you do with this issue about the Legend of Ranger Rick.

Ranger Rick, sometimes disguised as Ranger Rita, has become a legend within Pass Patrol.  Rarely does a campfire turn to ashes without at least one good Ranger Rick story.  He and Outlaw have a unique relationship.  Kinda like Smokey and the Bandit.  The stories about Ranger Rick chasing Outlaw from Canada to Mexico are fueled by the wild imaginations of Sundance, Sunshine, Wild One, and other Pass Patrol members, but Outlaw never misses a chance to turn a one line story into a flaming novel.

Interpreting a Ranger Rick story takes a little practice.  Sundance always says there is a spark of truth in very story, but finding that spark sometimes takes the combined effort of everyone who was there.  A good story always ends with, “That’s exactly the way I remember it.”

For example, if we say “Ranger Rick flew his plane around in circles looking for us but we were hidden in the trees."

The spark of truth is probably that a plane was seen in the sky sometime during the day.

Example: “Ranger Rick sent the Sheriff after us, but we gave him the slip.”
