When Nissan offered to loan us an Xterra Pro-4X to use in our travels this summer, we smiled really big.  This is a tough 4x4 with the capability to go anywhere we could possibly care to visit.  It has a solid frame standing high on 265/75R16 tires that provide very good ground clearance.

The tires on it are BFG Rugged Trail.  They are tough enough for most families who are poking around in the back country, but in our case, we will upgrade to the All Terrain KO tires.

The Pro-4X also comes from the factory with an electric locker in the rear axle.  It is a feature that will not likely get a lot of use but if a time occurs when the 4x4 drive train is not quite enough to get out of whatever we got ourselves into, pushing that button will increase our traction by another 25%

There is a long list of features that are standard equipment with the Pro-4X package.  That list can be viewed by clicking one of the images at the bottom of this page.  The list is also a part of the "Made in America" ebook that can be viewed by clicking the link on the right.  As time goes on, new ebooks will be added to that list on the right describing performance evaluations and changes we might make to the vehicle.
